photo booth kissing

Here's the photo I promised ......

Gosh I love this guy!

A great day ....

Today was a fabulous day with the man of my dreams. Tomorrow will be 6 years since we were married. Sometimes I can't believe that it has already been six years since we said "I do". Since we were married in the summer we usually always celebrate our anniversary at some camp. This year is no different for us. Today Bush & Maris watched our boys as we headed over to Austin for some great couple time. It is so much fun to go out with no kids. I forget how much fun it is until we are out and no one is crying and I am not picking up crayons off the restaurant floor for the millionth time, and I'm not trying to split a $5 kids meal that doesn't even have good food in it anyways.

We started our day at a great restaurant in Austin called Shady Grove. Fabulous food and fabulous chips and salsa. A place CAN NOT go wrong that has good chips and salsa for me. We then headed to the mall to cruise around and window shop, Starbucks for a great coffee, and then to guitar center to pick stuff up for the band. While we were at the mall we took our picture in one of those cheesy picture booths. So much fun! Whenever I get them scanned I'll share with you!

I must say I am 100% more in love with my husband today than I was 6 years ago. Our love has grown tremendously and him and I have both transformed into different people over the years. God has been so gracious to each of us by giving us each other and two fabulous boys. I can not wait for the next 6 years and so many more after that!

Baby - I LOVE YOU!

just one reason

Today my amazingly, wonderful hubby went to the store to pick up a new air filter thing for our house and came home with that and 3 bunches of beautiful flowers for me. I love that about him, because he does this about once a month and I love it. He always tells Big Boy that he got flowers for mommy because he loves her so much. Isn't he instilling great patterns into his boys.

love family time

If you know me at all, you know that I LOVE it when Aaron is home and we just have family time. Aaron cooks a fabulous meal, I do dishes, we all play outside and then Aaron and I have mommy daddy time after the kids go to bed! :)

Read this fabulous post that my amazing and wonderful hubby posted tonight on his blog. I can not even explain how much I love him ......

Great wedding weekend!

I LOVE weddings. I LOVE to see two people become one. I LOVE to see two people so in love finally get to be together all the time. This weekend we had the joy to be a part of the union of Chad and Stephanie. Chad is in the band and they have dated long distance for four years! Isn't that amazing that they stuck it out, both graduated college, and kept their relationship pure for four years. I am a proud friend.

Aaron performed the wedding and I think he did a fabulous job. He spoke from his heart and loved them and encouraged them in their journey that lies ahead of them.

Here are a few pictures from the rehearsal dinner which was at Cafe Adobe. We had so much fun hanging with friends and singing karaoke! What a fun night!

Birthday celebration!

Birthday's don't seem like they are that big of a deal anymore these days. Tomorrow I'll hit the big 2-9! 29 years old. 1 year left until I'm 30. 11 years away from 40. Wow - isn't it funny how when I was younger 40 seemed so old and now it seems so young!

Aaron surprised me and took me out on the town on Thursday night to celebrate a little early. I let the boys go home from school with Shawnah because Big Boy was begging to go over there and I headed home to mow the lawn. I was at home about to change clothes to mow when Aaron arrived and told me we were going out!!! I LOVE TO GO OUT!!!! What a surprise. Little did I know he had already made plans with Shawnah to watch the boys for us and I didn't know about it.

We went to a FABULOUS restaurant in Nashville called Radius 10. Super vibey and super cool! It reminded us of Chicago or New York City. It is in the Gulch area and we had some great drinks, great pizza, great hummus, great salad and fabulous tuna! Yummy it was good! Then we headed over to The Rutledge to listen to some great live music. Since we had gone to dinner so early we arrived during sound check! It was funny to me to watch someone else sound check. :) We sat at the bar and I read the paper!!! We were only able to listen to one band since we needed to get home and get the kids before 10.

We had so much fun celebrating my birthday. The boys got me a new watch. Apparently Aaron doesn't like the watch that I have now. I bought it at Target about 3 years ago and it is a sports watch which is great for running. I never take it off and he says it looks awful. I even wear it with nice clothes. I just never cared! Aaron gave me the gift I was hoping for all along - a new program for my computer called iRemember. It is a digital scrap booking program and I can NOT wait to get to scrapping!

As we were out that night we talked about life, love and how we wish that everyone loved each other the way we love each other. It seems like lately people all around us are somehow missing the meaning of life. Married couples are fogetting what it means to love, cherish, respect and care for each other. They are not putting their spouse first in life. We have vowed to alaways put each other before anything - even our kids and our jobs! "US" is way more important than anythinge else on this earth. We are diligent about spending time talking each day. Many nights we eat together as a family, and about once a week we feed the kids first, put them in bed, and then eat our meal together. It is a MUST that we go out at least 2-3 times a month with NO kids.

We continue to date. We continue to fall in love. We will continue on this journey together.

LOVE

LOVE.

“I wonder how many people never get the one they want, but end up with the one they're supposed to have”. What a fabulous line from Fried Green Tomatoes, a movie that everyone should have on their TOP 100 MOVIE list! I feel like this quote tells the story of my love life up until the man of my dreams swept me off my feet when I wasn’t even looking for love. It seems as though I never had a healthy relationship with the men I was dating. The relationship always turned very physical and then that was it. There was not the emotional and spiritual connection that I longed for. There wasn’t the security of knowing he would love me in sickness and in health. There were never the thoughts of “us” in 30 years. Why did I stay? Why did I always settle for what was not best for me? This, my friend is what often happens with girls. We stay. We settle. We lower our standards. We take what we think is all we can get. Why?

PATIO

OH MY GOODNESS is all I can say tonight! We finally arrived home from H-town and Aaron escorted me to the back yard and YES I have a patio!!! I am so excited. You know this is what I was hoping for. He said we never talked about the surprise and yes he is kinda right .... we have always talked about a deck and he built me a stone patio! 159 stones in all!!!! I LOVE IT and he was right in knowing exactly what I would want. He even put rocks leading out from our backdoor to the new patio. I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!

For those of you that have not seen our back yard you will never appreciate all that he did. It was a JUNGLE right behind our garage and he has begun a masterpiece. We have so many new ideas now to do with our backyard. Finally our kids can play in the backyard like normal little boys instead of in our driveway! We want plants, pots, umbrellas, teki (how do you spell that one?) torches, a swing set and so much more now!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH - have I mentioned that?

I will post pictures tomorrow since it is dark now. I know that you will too be impressed with my hubby's fine work of art!

This makes me so proud to be his wife. He does so much for me and is constantly thinking of me and what our family and I will love! I LOVE HIM and I LOVE our new PATIO!!!

The sweetest sight to me!

Look at this picture:

Doesn't that just look like the sweetest sight you have yet to see. Big Boy LOVES to color and could sit there for hours a day and color. Little Boy is not into it much, but loves to do whatever big brother is doing. Little Boy will try to join in for a few minutes and then realizes he is bored and would rather dump all the colors on the floor and make Big Boy very mad than color in the silly coloring book! They are so funny!

This sight made me so happy that I am allowed to be the mommy to these sweet boys. God granted them to me for a moment to love them, lead them, teach them and guide them in this big, bad, world. I am honored and scared all at the same time!

I love these boys with all that is in me.

we love each other

I am confident that Aaron and I are doing at least one thing right in our parenting. We may fail at many other things, but this one thing is going strong. I know that my kids will know that their daddy loves their mommy so much and loves to be with her. The other day we were leaving for small group and a babysitter was coming so we were explaining to big boy that Ms. Amanda was coming over to watch him while we were gone. He then asked daddy if he was taking mommy on a date. How cute! He knows that daddy often takes mommy on dates!

If you don't know how wonderful Aaron is to me, here is an example - he does ALL the grocery shopping! Yes, he does all the major stuff. It is wonderful. I guess since he does most of the cooking he would be the ideal candidate for the shopping! Often times on his grocery trips he will bring me flowers home. Tonight at dinner Big Boy was talking about the flowers. He told me that daddy brought me flowers because he loves you! My heart nearly melted. He knows that Daddy loves Mommy!

So, to my future daughter-in-law's we are trying our hardest to raise men who love Jesus, and adore and respect their wives with all that is in them. I know that my boys are getting a great first hand demonstration of that on a weekly basis!

Aaron I love you!
